Move Well - 12 Ways to Better Movement
Create a movement rich life, beat aches and pains, and feel strong and confident in your body
How much movement do you really need? And what kind?
Should you take up strength training?
Pilates, Yoga, or Restorative Exercise?
Swim? Bike? Run?
Is exercise even the best form of movement?
No matter what kind of exercise you choose, you can still only do it a few hours a week.
Even if you went to the gym daily, that's still 7 to 10 hours of moving.
What about the rest of the time? The other 158 hours of your week?
When you look at what little percentage of our time we can actually exercise, especially compared to the varied and rich in movement opportunities life of our ancestors, no wonder that even avid exercisers feel stiff, tired and achy at the end of a work day.
And it's no surprise that our most active clients still struggle with backaches, headaches, low energy, and fatigue.
When we start to introduce the principles of all day movement and focus on sitting positions, walking breaks, breathing style, and creating a robust and rich lifestyle of regular natural movement, our students go from thinking they have to work hard, to being astonished at the power of an all-day movement approach.
We take a different approach to thinking about movement
Our approach respects your physiology and how your body adapted to nature through natural movement.
We believe that by mastering the 12 ways to better movement, you can, like many others, feel right in your body and enjoy a new outlook on movement and life!
What is all day movement anyways?
Think of it this way. If you lived in nature, your body would be moving through varied terrain, taking many steps in a day, squatting, climbing, hanging, running, gathering, hunting...all activities that require you move quite a bit.
Most of us work behind desks and screens, drive cars, and never really have the opportunity to experience the natural loads delivered by natural human movement.
While our lifestyle is modern, our bodies are ancient and require you move outside your exercise time.
Foundational habits
That's why we've been teaching the foundational habits of a movement rich life to our students for a long time - long before we wrote our latest book.
Because it's those very habits that help us live as close to a natural movement rich lifestyle as we can.
Now, we have recorded short and powerful lessons, so you can start to incorporate those habits in your own life!
